The Ruffian on the Stair is a play written by Joe Orton in 1963. The play centers around 3 characters; Wilson, a gentleman's hairdresser, Mike, a petty crook, and Joyce, a former prostitute. Wilson forces his way into Mike and Joyce's world in an attempt to avenge his brother's death. Tumultous, dysfunctional and unconventionally lovely, this play draws you into the seemingly coincidental intersection of these three individual's lives.
